Huawei is very open when it comes to 3rd party SFP. In most cases, all SFPs work, but it generates a message every day, which fills the log unnecessarily. This can be disabled.
When migrating, you often want to continue using the existing SFPs instead of replacing everything. Huawei is very open when it comes to 3rd party SFPs, which in most cases work without any problems. However, a message is generated daily that the SFP is not certified by Huawei:
Nov 27 2023 09:40:59 HUAWEI
SRM/3/SFP_EXCEPTION:OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.129.2.1.9 Optical module
exception, SFP is not certified. (EntityPhysicalIndex=67453134,
BaseTrapSeverity=5, BaseTrapProbableCause=136192, BaseTrapEventType=9,
EntPhysicalContainedIn=67108873
These messages can be deactivated. Depending on the used model, it is a different command - it is best to try out which command works:
[HUAWEI]transceiver phony-alarm-disable
or
[HUAWEI]transceiver non-certified-alarm disable
➡️ It is important to know that with the use of 3rd party SFPs there may be no support from Huawei if there are any problems.
